Sales decline accelerates at Johnston Press

In the eight weeks to February 27, it said revenue fell even faster, declining 13 per cent, although it highlighted “strong year on year comparatives in the first quarter of 2015” as a mitigating factor.


Print advertising revenues dropped 11.9 per cent to £118.1m, compared with an 8.7 per cent decline in 2014.


The pace of growth in digital advertising revenues also declined. Digital advertising revenues rose 12.4 per cent to £30.6m, having grown 20 per cent in 2014.
