Jobless Claims Rise After Downward Revision

Initial jobless claims rose 6,000 to 265,000 in the week ended March 19 from 259,000 previously (revised from 265,000). That brought the 4-week average to 259,750 from 259,500 (revised from 268,000). Continuing claims fell 39,000 to 2.179 million in the March 12 week, from a revised 2.218 million previously (revised from 2.235 million).
