BART’s Board of Directors received an update Thursday morning on the rail system’s five-mile Fremont extension to Warm Springs. The agency said they’re on schedule in the first step to take BART to San Jose.

The Warm Springs Station is set to open in 2015. Paul Medved, BART’s principal engineer on the project, said it will include 34 acres for parking as well as bus connections and even public arts.
