Google Closes $12.5 Billion Deal to Buy Motorola Mobility

After nearly a year of jumping through regulatory hurdles and fending off inquiries from authorities, Google said Tuesday that it had completed its $12.5 billion acquisition of Motorola.

Google received all the necessary regulatory approvals and had been waiting for regulators in China to sign off on the purchase. That final nod came through over the weekend.
