Facebook's Website Just Crashed (Updated)

Stacey Higginbotham, a writer for GigaOm is reporting that Facebook is experiencing a substantial outage,”going dark for up to 80 minutes for some people.” The site is loading for me, although at a rather slow clip. A quick twitter search revealed it is still apparently out for some people starting from from 8:40 EDT.

I agree with Higginbotham that it’s been a bad month for Facebook, first with it’s IPO crashing and now with the site appearing to have its own set of problems. On a more positive front, Facebook’s stock was up $1.41% today to close at $29.60, but is still 23% below its IPO price.
