The California Assembly has unanimously approved a bill that would prevent employers from asking job applicants for their social media passwords.
AB1844 would ban employers from requiring current or prospective employees to disclose their user names or passwords for sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
The bill passed 69-0 Thursday and moves to the Senate.
