**Opinion**
There are parts of this I agree with and others I don't. I don't believe that Obama has governed the way he said he would (prior to being elected) completely. Granted, the GOP has provided unnecessary obstacles and/or hurdles in many of his attempts. However, he has most definitely not fulfilled all of the promises that he's made. According to the article in Newsweek, a depression was averted, and in the video, it is echoed again with 'massive' added to the label; however, the media nor the government never labeled it as a depression and consistently called it a recession. Let's be frank, it really was/is a depression and not a recession. I do agree that the election is about looking forward rather than backward. Prior to the '08 election, if I had to choose between Obama being a lefty or a right of centrist, then I would've went with lefty and also it's clearly now known that he is a compromiser in the middle (now being the key word). I also don't believe that most Republicans consider him to be a far lefty. Furthermore, I don't believe that it will get through to Republicans that they can't pick and choose when and if, they will compromise. Why would it?! They've gotten most of what they've wanted his whole term. I believe there is more to it. And, simply put, it will not be changed (by anything). Also, I believe although it may be nice for his team to express his accomplishments, now is not the right time, if at all (it's really not the Democrats' way, but it may be in their interest come re-election time). In agreement, he does offer a more fair/balanced way than the Republican approach (of balancing debt) by far. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I highly doubt it's about growing up a little or looking at history (looking at history may help some, but I don't think it's the overall solution). Obama does have great temperate, agreed. Obama compared with Reagan, huh? I suppose it's possible and only time will tell....
