Occupy movement targets West Coast ports today

http://www.insidebayarea.com/bay-area-news/ci_19528847

Occupy movements are marching on ports up and down the West Coast today in a coordinated economic blockade to stop shipments from coming or going.

The labor action comes just six weeks after a Nov. 2 general strike launched by Occupy Oakland shut down the port here overnight. Today's action, however, is expected to affect ports in San Diego, Los Angeles/Long Beach, Portland, Seattle and Vancouver, B.C., among others.

Oakland organizers say they are closing down ports in response to the coordinated attacks against Occupy camps around the country. They are also expressing their solidarity with truck drivers in Los Angeles who were fired by SSA when they tried to form a union, and with longshoremen in Longview, Washington who are fighting nonunion labor at a grain export facility.
