Oakland Police WERE Hiding Their Names With Tape During Wednesday's Strike (VIDEO)

Following Wednesday's general strike in Oakland, and the night of protests that followed, unconfirmed Tweets claimed police were covering their name-tags with tape to conceal their identities.

The claims went on to say that the Oakland Police were also hiding, and refusing to provide, their badge numbers. Until now these claims were unsubstantiated.

The following video shows an Oakland officer hiding his name with electrical tape and his lieutenant being prompted by cameramen to explain it (via Vimeo). The practice is prohibited and the officer is forced to display his name.

Hmm, this video sure wasn't a simple find due to it being removed from many of the places it was posted.
