You wouldn’t think that the governor of Texas, the most conservative of the viable candidates in the Republican presidential field, would want to make the U.S. more like Europe. Unless, of course, you have read Rick Perry’s book.
His book can be found @ http://www.amazon.com/Fed-Up-Fight-America-Washington/dp/0316132950.

The book description is hilarious!
It reads as the following:
Now, do not misunderstand me, America is great.
But we are fed up with being over-taxed and over-regulated. We are tired of being told how much salt to put on our food, what kind of cars we can drive, what kinds of guns we can own, what kind of prayers we are allowed to say and where we can say them, what we are allowed to do to elect political candidates, what kind of energy we can use, what doctor we can see. What kind of nation are we becoming? I fear it's the very kind the Colonists fought against.
But perhaps most of all, we are fed up because deep down we know how great America has always been, how many great things the people do in spite of their government, and how great the nation can be in the future if government will just get out of the way.
Our fight is clear. We must step up and retake the reins of our government from a Washington establishment that has abused our trust. We must empower states to fight for our beliefs, elect only leaders who are on our team, set out to remind our fellow Americans why liberty is guaranteed in the Constitution, and take concrete steps to take back our country. The American people have never sat idle when liberty's trumpet sounds the call to battle-and today that battle is for the soul of America.

You are fed up with being over taxed huh?!? Well, I hate to have to be the one to inform you, but...you aren't being over taxed! Only an idiot would believe that, hence many voters aligned with the Republican/Conservative parties. And typically, people not educated, informed, or aware enough that most often will purchase his book, too.
Put all the salt you want on your food, LOL. I could care less if information is available contrary to doing so and you don't care to inform yourself or think it's valid. The media is biased and often times, for lack of better terms, 'tells' people what to do as well. At times, it's good to disregard. Is it good to completely? I don't believe so.
Oh, America the great, huh?? Very inspirational, LOL!
Your team has leaders? If so, I wouldn't say many. Just look at the candidates and those elected. Liberty is guaranteed in the Constitution, however, many times your party works towards taking away from citizens' being free or restricted. Tax breaks for the those that don't need it, while you cut necessity programs for the unfortunate, are most definitely forms of control. In fact, often times, Republicans and Conservatives are so obsessed with control, that they will even try many legal and unlawful acts in trying to prevent you from your right of voting. It's just too bad you don't have that power, huh? I guess you aren't powerful enough, :).
