Bleak Jobs Report Reinforces Need to Protect Safety Net

**Opinion**

The focus should be/should've been on job creation - not the nation's debt limit! Why is it in the spotlight so much now for? Why hasn't in been getting a lot of attention in the past when the country was doing better financially? We've been in debt for some time now. Because Americans and the government wish to live above and beyond their budget, doesn't mean that we should penalize those at or near the poverty level who may not have that same privilege and will be effected the most from cutting necessity programs.
