First Republican Presidential Debate Pulled Off Course, But Pawlenty Emerges Relatively Unscathed

But the candidates spent little time discussing America's sustained high unemployment rate or what to do about creating more jobs. Joblessness was only tangentially connected to a few questions about tax policy, organized labor and the national debt.
**Opinion**
Of course the high unemployment rate is not an issue of interest to them. Why? Well, many times, they can't understand and/or relate to it since it doesn't directly affect them (or for that matter, their associates, family, friends, and acquaintances either). Now, I bet if there were job losses or pay cuts in the elite financial sector (which most often consists of politicians), then we would see big changes...
