'Strategic default' losing stigma as homes go deeper underwater
**Opinion**
History repeats itself. The government markets to the masses every so many years or generations. What it markets, if you will, is motivation. The motivation can also be referred to as a dream. The problem with the motivational dream is that the economy cannot support success with all the individuals that participate and that it markets to. Examples of these motivational dreams are as follows: military, ownership of home, college education, trade school, credit, predatory lending, etc. In reflection of the times, many people have now changed their outlook regarding their-once-beloved-homes and are willing to 'walk on their mortgage'. In fact, I would say that the outlook has changed not for the better in all of the items listed above. The government did awfully well off of your aspirations and now has many wondering 'why' for a number of reasons. This all seems to fit into place well after researching the mental recovery process that's possible for those involved. First, is denial about your situation. Since, it's new to you and not likely desirable, it's easier to live in the world that you did before your problem(s) occurred. Feeling sad may follow next. After feeling sad, many people may encounter acceptance of their new standard of life. Again, this is just history repeating itself and similarities can be found throughout history. Lastly, I believe that this is just a numbers game, the amount of opportunities doesn't support the amount of people that have motivation to achieve or acquire; therefore, the government and corporations makes good money from those that fall victim to the numbers game and many people with the right intentions are just left feeling with thoughts of why.
