Why of course they can and may very well attempt to do so. They are banking on the population not being aware. Also, media outlets that don't report or minimally report.

With all of the recent occurrences, one has to wonder if the Democratic Party really has the interests of those who they claim to have in mind/focus. Looking back at this presidency, I believe that can easily be questioned. I'm curious as to why more isn't being done by so-called Democrats, Liberals, and progressives. More and more, the Democrats seem to concur with Republicans on matters they have no business agreeing on. This presidency was supposed to be about change! Why do we see more of the same occurring!? More and more continue to benefit the fortunate, while the unfortunate continue to be trampled. The same people that went out and voted for change now need to ensure that that change is actually carried out. Why is it that Republicans are the only ones to be so stubborn in their voting?! Maybe they should employ this hard-nosiness when they aren't satisfied to help get more beneficial results. With that said, it may be too late and the disconnection between politicians and the public may be too distant, thereby, a new representative of the people and their values may be necessary.
