California must release prisoners, Supreme Court rules

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-13508182

The US Supreme Court has upheld an order for California to free thousands of prisoners because of overcrowding.

In my opinion, if the state wasn't politically designed the way that it is - this wouldn't even be an issue (or at least not as much as one). Hence, by far the most laws/municipal codes, etc. (of the U.S.), heavy incarceration sentences and an alarming amount of weapons running freely throughout much of the state. Let's not forget a very high number of unemployed people (with little job creation) and huge discrepancies between the have and have-nots, plus for arrest statistics of different ethnicities/socio-economic backgrounds.
