Vice President Joe Biden came to the NAACP Thursday with a booming message: President Barack Obama needs their help, and Mitt Romney and the Republicans in Congress will hurt them.

Speaking in Houston to the nation’s oldest and largest civil rights organization’s annual convention a day after Romney told the NAACP that the Republican candidate later acknowledged was full of statements the crowd didn’t want to hear, Biden delivered his own speech, built, as the vice president told them, around “preaching to the choir.”
